I said it before, and I will say it again.....someone in our government needs to grow some balls and put a stop to this blatant disregard for the laws of the United States.

my girlfriend was right though. she said, "all this does is cheap labor for now, for us,and when the millions of mexicans get knocked up and have kids, it's cheap labor for them."

The problem here is like a double edged sword.

One one hand we need some of the 11 million workers and rounding them up would cost a fortune

On the other had you just set a preicdent in doing this "Fuck the Law, you can stay anyways"

I say we have a 60 day grace period for illegals to identify themselves and be given temp worker status. After that you start really protecting the boarders and anyone caught in the nation unidentifed or trying to cross illegaly into the nation gets deported, and goes to the very back of the line. They then aren't even allowed to apply for 24 months.

But for that to work we need to get a good handle on boarder security

Finally anyone coast breaking the law (other then minor traffic violations) is deported, felons are not alloed to return ever

Well, the problem lies with the fact that instead of employers outsourcing to other countries - they will simply lower wages inside the US to the point where only illegal immigrants would take the jobs. I hate all this immigrant bullshit. Theres a reason why there are borders - and I think there needs to be a 10 foot thick 30 foot high wall between the US and Mexico. Screw Mexifornia and all the liberals. I think that the middle and lower class people of America deserve protection like that.

Granted, labor laws, minimum wage and unions help - but what happens when huge corporations ditch their $14 an hour work force of unionized workers and go with $6 an hour non-union immigrant help? Companies will have no problem walking out on unions when there is a plentiful supply of workers ready to replace them.

It's going to be the industrial revolution all over again.

From what is being shown on t.v., they are acting like a bunch of uncivilized savages. Was watching the news on the huge rally of 500k mexicans in downtown LA this weekend and they were interviewing one fat cow with 4 children and one in the oven and her words were as follows:

Fat cow with painted on eyebrows: "Dees es not right !! My hosband es illegal alien and he works hard to suppoert hees familee and he should be allowed to stey en amerika."

The simple solution here is to make it law that employers must pay illegal immigrants the same minimum wage that they would pay to an American citizen. This would effectively eliminate an employer's motivation for hiring an illegal over a citizen in the first place.

it really pisses me off that they sneak in here and expect to gain citizenship. then throw a fucking fit when it gets denied. it especially ticked me off when they tried to give illegal immigrants drivers licenses.

i got mine 5 yrs ago, but i had to go through hell to get it because im not a citizen yet. had to go to SF to get new papers and pay 300 for a new green card and all this shit. US roads are already bad with road rage, people cutting lights, etc... it doesnt fucking need 20 million non english speaking drivers speeding and cutting lights too.

and just a few months ago my close friend couldnt get a job at target as a cashier because an illegal immigrant stole her s.s. number and she had to wait like a month before it got cleared.

im not racist. im just saying they should wait in line to get citizenship like everybody else and if they want to come here illegally, dont except a lending hand.

btw, im an asian refugee from thailand. my parents came here when i was 2 mos. from "camps" that were designed to keep them "safe" from the viet-kongs. it was after they provided assistance to the american g.i.s during the viet war. they waited 16 mother fucking years in those hell holes to come. so i think they paid their dues.

Anyone with an education wont work at some shit job making 5-6 bucks an hour.
No aliens, and americans with education, that = 10 bucks for a doz eggs and 15 bucks for a gallon of milk. or 300 buck a month to have your trash picked up.

There are serious negative social consequences to the indifferent dilution of a traditional American cultural values that put a high value on personal liberty, education, and citizen participation in the political process. We are already paying a high price for that Federal government indifference, or is it malfeasance? If a physical wall is needed to control Illegal immigration, that is a far more logical application of citizen's wealth, than providing cheap labor for a few unscrupulous businessmen. It also destroys opportunities for youths entering the workforce.

The first line of national defense is secure national borders. If nothing else, we should have learned that from the loss of the World Trade Center and its 3,000 victims.

it would take a serious amount of commitment to secure the mexican border. im not saying im against it, but i know from someone else's experience. my dad's friend worked border patrol for 10 years, thought he was doing a great job, and was sending people back in masses by the day. then he came back to the northeast and couldnt believe all the latin americans that were here. he said he honestly felt like he wasted 10 years. it would take reallocation of government funds to secure it properly and in short, a "war on terror" is far more profitable then kicking out some aliens so businesses can pay citizens far more than they were shelling out before.

its amazing that both construction and oil are reaching all time profit highs while being in "grey" areas and the economy is in the shitter.

Money. The sad truth that it may be is the most obvious i think. The politicians screaming "national security" are giving the false sense of security or "illusion" if you will to unknown and blind american citizens that our country is secure and/or its main objective is to secure our country from within. A sleep aid for us all so to say. Again this is my own opinion but the real objective is money. These 98 year old ladys are a speck of dust in comparison to the numbers of illegals not contributing to our growing problems here. Washington is convinced that without illegals here, the economy will suffer. That is another argument in itself. They can close the border but they will not. Not that mexico is a threat to us but they do hold a very large number of american jobs and god forbid if we give up those jobs to homeless and youths in our own country.
