I brought the Ti into ICS (http://www.icsperformance.com/) today.
Getting the RD suspension put on, and the brakes i got from bimmerbum put on, and a bunch of misc maintenance items (rear diff fluid change, coolant flush / thermostat change, oil change, brake fluid flush, alignment, replacing the rear hatch struts, and fixing the passenger side window (off track)).
All I have to say is WOW. Ton of crazy cars there.
supra on the lift with a turbo the size of my head... and i have a BIG head.
lots of m cars, s-cars, etc etc. i kinda felt out of place in the lame-ass stock Ti. lol
I figure it will be there the better part of the week. I didn't make an appointment or anything, so i won't be top priority. No worries... it's semi nice out now and all the snow is gone, so i can rock the M for a week and not get stuck driving the truck
In fact, yesterday was the first time i drove the M since early November (pretty much stop driving it after first salt). It's weird going from the Ti to it. I forgot how to drive it. thing feels huge... it's SOOO touchy... i forgot how to drive it
this is sorta my trial run with ICS. I'll let them work on the Ti.... see how they do for work... and then maybe i'll bring me M there too if they do a good job.
neonmike is trying to talk me into doing the horsepower freaks turbo kit on it. ICS is a certified installer now too, which makes it almost too convenient.... well, a LOT more than going to oregon.
I'm still trying to justify the 16 grand base price tag (+clutch, labor, etc etc etc which will quickly become 20k for 300 hp. (280 at the wheels to roughly 580 at the wheels)). Do I REALLY need it?
ehh, i know i'm kinda ranting and rambling on here, but hey, it's the lounge
When i get the car back i'll review the RD suspension set up... see what its like.
First thing this morning they are calling me up. They already started going over it and found some stuff.
Looks like i got a bad right front caliper... left pad is near new, right pad is worn through.
ball joints are shot, tie rods are shot
so, i'm getting basically a whole new front end suspension wise put on.
I'm sure there's still more to take apart. I told 'em if it needs it, do it. Get the car back to 100% again.
and now that i think about it, that parasitic drag is probably 50% of the cause of my crap gas mileage.
driving easy, i've yet to break 27mpg.
let's see if i can break 30's when i get it back
