Nice. Maybe it's a seeing them in person type thing, but I don't really understand what exactly is so special about the Skyline. Yea it's a sexy car and all, but $44k special?
Right there a lot of cars more rare than the Skyline that can be obtained much easier and cheaper.
true, forgot about that.thats why he has his truck for a daily
Ive always wanted a Skyline R34, but I read somewhere the frame of the car doesnt meet the safety requirements for something or another, so they cant be street legal in the U.S. I know you can get R33s but Idk. Thats just what I read. So who knows if its true.
Not exactly true. Its just, in order to make an imported car street legal in the US it has to have the correct internal components (like a speedometer in MPH and all english alert lights), and it has to be crash tested.
The reason the R32 is allowed to be imported is because a company named MotoRex actually went to the trouble to get enough R32s imported and run through all the tests. They went on to import R33s and R34s without said tests, and thats when they lost their license.
I dont know if things have changed, but the last I heard R33s and R34s are only legal if they were imported and modified by MotoRex in their days. Again, thats the last I read, it might be different now.
There were a lot of other reasons motorex got shut down. the owner of the company is now in prison for drug charges, kidnapping, assault, etc.The reason the R32 is allowed to be imported is because a company named MotoRex actually went to the trouble to get enough R32s imported and run through all the tests. it's been converted to a single turbo, so he probably rebuilt the block or something... i dunno.
i don't think its a huge concern.
when's the last time you saw a civic with the stock motor in it? lol
You wouldn't consider simply swapping out your M engine in most cases, would you?
does that epa requirement apply if passing smog is not required in your area?
if i blew it up, or it broke, wtf else am i going to do with it? of course i'd swap it for a new one.
