KTP is honestly the best mainstream gun shop around. I've tried BPS, and all they have are expensive hunting break-open shotguns, overpriced new pistols and a horrible selection of anything semi-auto. I'll give Cabellas a try, but I was pretty impressed with KTP selection of used guns. My friend bought a brand new Remington 870, with the 17" barrel, non ribbed, synthetic stock and fore-end. Got it for $269.99. Walked about with a case, the gun and close to 40 rounds of 12 gauge for less than $350. Not bad. I was eyeing a Mossberg 500 Special Purpose they had on display, but I'm going to wait until tax refund time to consider it. They also had a Remington 1100 tactical with the 7+1 tube brand new. $689. My local shop quoted me with a hook-up price of $799.

As far as long guns, they have every thing you'd ever want, short of a NFA stuff. Used guns galore, and prices were really decent. Had a well-worn Springfield bolt action for $198. Mauser K43's for close to $240. They had literally hundreds of Mossbergs, Rugers and Marlins. Another nice touch is that you can actually actively handle the firearms without having a clerk take each one out for you. Handguns are different, as are the semi-autos - but still. For anyone in the area, especially those who don't live in the Neo-Nazi state of MA, there was a huge selection of good condition semi-auto pistols, long guns and lots LOTS of AR's and SKS's. They also take gun trades, and will also give you money for used magazines, holsters and scopes.

I'll being going back up in April, most likely to buy a good lot of things.
