well if your motor has a lot of miles on it you should at least rebuild it before boosting. it will last longer that way.
h22 is a good option for that car. it is farily light (at least compared to 94 up). you can get a complete swap for about 2500 shipped. or spend that much on a turbo. its up to you on what you want to do.
i love mechanics i do my brakes and all of that shit. i wanna learn engines is this an easy way? what shhould i be looking for to rebuild it? where can i get that motor?? any help would be greatly appreaciated!!!
well witht the rebuild you would want all new gaskets, orings, oil and water pump, timing belt, have the block honed, new pistons if the old ones are pitted or damaged, new bearings, head studs, rod bolts, things like that
ive had good luck with my 94. actually doing tasteful powermods to accords is very rare where i live. there is only one other accord with an h22 where i live. and he blew his up
i got an f22a1 with 240k miles and running strong...I am in the same boat as you and wanna boost and learn about all that drama. So what I am doing is I bought a f22b and I am gunna rebuild that as I boost my f22. I am gunna run small amounts of boost on my f22 but that way I can learn about tuning and all the particulars in boosting. Then if I blow that engine, it had tons of miles and I got a back up engine that was ready to be turboed anyways. Good luck!
hum good thinking, but some people here might jump your ass for that coment, you know boosting the one you have and having an optional engine, they might say that the f22 you have in that rine should come out sence it has 240k, but i think its a good idea couse we arent born with the skills to do a swap and mod the engine and car, they for get that we all started the same way. what year is your ride
dont care if people jump my ass, i come here to talk about what I am doing to possibly help someone else, not to worry what other people think about me. My car is a 92 accord. And meanwhile why they worry my engine is very strong. 240k but is very very strong.
If you wanna take a look here is my thread on cb7tuner.com with a list of current mods and pictures!
