great, now i feel like i jinxed you.... cuz i wished you luck....

if you do the LS crank be VERY careful since its a vtec block. ive seen lots of clearance issues on the oil squirters.

you already had this block fixed once for a ripped out oil squirter ;)

nice man...looked like your car rotated really well! second shortest wheel base right?

taking out the pistons/rods and oil jet for you as we speak.

Damn. I've got the track bug again. Too bad I'm in the middle of getting ready to move, or I'd have another track car out on summit main. :(

Thanks man! Yes, the car felt pretty good. I've made major changes to the suspension. Weird driving with no front sway bar though, you can tell. Not sure if I like it or not yet; need more seat time with it like this.

Get the LS crank. :D
lol

Found a GSR crank for $100. Think I should just buy the GSR crank and not bother trying to repair my crank? My #4 rod journal does have a burn mark and feels a little rough (by fingernail)

nice work getting through that traffic :) must feel nice getting the track wide open in front of you.

looks like you almost didnt have enough to pass that miata at about 6:30, sounded like you lifted for a split second, then got back on it to pass. unless im just a noob and was hearing things lol.

Thanks, typically they grid us based on our previous best laptime. That session I was late so had to start at the very end. In TT we go all the way to turn 11 bunched up then start taking off. That way you really get a lot of open track the entire session.

Ya, I 2nd guessed that pass at that kink (turn 7). When I felt like he knew I was there I went for it.

I hate the feeling of no front sway bar myself so I went with the smallest I could get. ST 21mm or something like that.

I boxed up your rods and oil jet! I will get it out today for you; take that $100 gsr crank and your rods and pistons and have the machine shop match up the bearings for the rods and main caps. I would obviously have it get the works as well with balancing and micro polishing.

My number 4 cylinder had the bearing melt to the crank! Dont worry I sent the 2 and 3 to you to pick from and left the bearings in them for you to look at. Try ACL race maybe? I didnt see what you used this last time but Im hoping these are as good as they should be for myself.

I missed a couple things in your build, what lca's are you using with the sphericals? What front sphericals are you running for the lowers?

Im wondering if this is worth it over my poly's considering I can buy a full set when they wear out 4-5 times for the prices I have seen for sphericals. I dont know if aftermarket are legal for my class but wanted to see how well they have performed for you so far or if you have even noticed them.

Thanks!! I think I'm going to just pick up this crank. I'm at a crossroads here. I have an event scheduled for July 2nd and will be out of town for 2 weeks between now and then. I'm finishing up our bathroom remodel this weekend, so that is lost. Would I need to give my block to the machine shop for the "works"? Or can I just give them my rods, pistons and crank? I can pull the pistons quicker than I can pull the engine, give them the pistons, new rod and new crank while I continue to pull the motor out and apart.

I used ACL race bearings on my build as well. I'm going to order an entire new set of rod and main bearings anyways. My rings have only a few hundred miles on them, can they be re-used?

I have the hardrace rear LCA's with sphericals. Up front Im using a stock LCA with sphericals pressed in by KIWI from HT. He sends you a brand new front LCA and its a very decent price. I don't think these sphericals really wear that much as some OE's use sphericals on their LCA's too. I say get the sphericals, they are nice.

the front arms you have are hardrace. hardrace did the pressing, not jeff.

Thanks good to know; I saw them on his site and thought they were priced decently.

The block I would send in complete and have them balance and blueprint the whole thing at this point. You will be going with mis-matched rods, a different crank, etc so there are several things potentially that could go wrong. Also dont order new bearings yet until they mic everything and tell you what sizes are needed. The rings you could re-use but you shouldnt technically and probably should just replace since they arent too expensive "I know it sucks I had the same deal with my motor".

This is just my opinion.
