I've heard that a b17 is faster than a b18c1 gsr. can anyone tell me their input. i know that the b18c1 has more hp and torque but the b17 has a shorter geared tranny. i'm trying to figure out which is faster?
if the motor is in the same car the b18c1 gsr motor should be faster. but if your talking about 1993 gsr vs 1994 gsr the 93 will win, because the da was the fastest integra to come to the states

The B16's gearing is definitely shorter, so theoretically the B18C1 with the B16 gearbox should win. You'd want to make sure and get a B16 tranny with the 4.4 final drive though, not all of them have it...
Look for the code on the transmission. Avoid the Y1. Actually, you'd probably want to avoid anything pre-92 anyway, since they switched to hydraulic actuation in 92, at least for Civics. For Integras they switched to hydro in 94.
yeah. i'm not really worried about the high rpms...considering i really don't drive on the highway. i'm just trying to figure out what i need to do for this swap. wireing, and etc...
