what steps should be taken into consideration when wanting to do a project like this? is it a good idea? should an itr motor perform different then a beefed up gsr motor?

In a crx that motor is a monster,if you can afford it and have the patience and wiring,mechanical know how it is a good swap,but your talking about a good amount of wiring and a few hundred extra in mounts and a new tranny (cable).

wiring will be hard if you don't know about cars!~~

get a OBD1 type R.
what model crx you putting the R in?

not even nearly worth the effort man. for that cost you could be boostin the hell out of a b16 and walkin all over the itr alternative.
