I got everything but the roof polished/buffed/compounded. It shines like a champ now.
After I finished, I wiped it down with alcohol and a microfiber, then moved on to applying this chinese ceramic coating. This is similar to the stuff I used on all the plastics.
It's cheap, so it'll probably not last very long. But, it does dry really hard, it just takes a day or so to dry. You have to lay it on thicker than the high-end ceramic coatings, so you'll use more than something like Avalon King, but for a beater car, it's a good option. I put some drops of it on one of those little microfiber sponge rounds used for applying wax, and wiped it on left to right, then top to bottom on every panel, making sure to be smooth and overlap every stroke slightly. This stuff typically takes 12-48 hours to cure completely, but it's not my only car, so nbd. It's important to not get it wet with anything until it's cured, otherwise it'll get interesting.
It's not like I'm driving anywhere anyway, lol.
Now, I just have to figure out how I'm going to do the roof. Maybe a step stool and/or standing on the seat cushions? Dunno, I'll figure it out.
