sup guys? 96 Civic HB DX

Couple of questions concerning Compression Ratios...i would like to know a mix & match recipe for HIGH COMPRESSION and for LOW COMPRESSION

1. DOHC ZC pistons, Y7 block, Y7 rods, Y7 Head, and A8 Head Gasket...what compression ratio?? (all STOCK) HP? torque?

2. DOHC ZC Pistons, Y7 Block, Y7 Rods, A8 HeadGasket and Y8 Head...what compression ratios? (all STOCK) HP? torque?

3. Insert recipe for High Compresion on a D16Y7 motor HERE

4. Insert recipe for Low Compresion on a D16Y7 motor HERE

Thanks in Advance... ;)

First off, there's no way to tell what kind of power and torque you'll get from a custom setup. Go build it, dyno and let us know.

;)

Educated guesses based on sketchy information, and assuming that "A8 head gasket" means "Y8 head gasket, the thin version":

1. 11.44:1
2. 13.09:1
3. See #2... it's the highest you'll go with OEM parts.
4. 9.45:1 = Y7 block/rods/crank, Z6 (P28) pistons, Z6/Y8 "thick" gasket, Y8 head

If slightly over 13:1 compression is too high for you, try getting the 96-00 GX pistons. They'll yield 12.5:1 compression in the Y8 head.

A direct replacement for the JDM DOHC ZC PM7 piston is the P29 from the USDM 88-89 Integra's DOHC D16 engine.

ok new recipe questions...i just purchased the Z6 HEAD.....

1) DOHC ZC pistons, Y7 block, Y7 rods, Z6 Head, and Y8 Head Gasket...what compression ratio?? (all stock)

2) Y7 pistons, Y7 block, Y7 rods, Z6 Head, and Y8 Head Gasket...what compression ratio?? (all stock)

calesta...or anyone....can you answer the above?

here's another question.... PG6B pistons = DOHC ZC PM7 Pistons?
