I'm trying to check the timing on my '95 prelude h23. Does anyone have any idea how to do this. I have a timing gun but i got it from my dad and it like 20 years old and it works but i'm not sure if it will work on my car or not. Any help would be great.

does the gun have a timing advance knob? if so . . adjust it to 0* connect the inductive pick up to the #1 cyl spark plug wire (close to the plug) remove plug to view flywheel. turn distributor til RED mark is in line with timing mark. With the red mark on flywheel matched to the timing mark and the knob on 0* you will be at stock ignition timing.
