Currently at the dyno trying to decide whether or not to make a pull. My vibrant tensioner has eaten a tiny amount off of the edge of the timing belt.. hmm

the belt moves a lot. but the pulley is just barely wide enough for the belt.. so any amount of error results in some interesting stuff.

i went ahead and made the pull.. you whores get to wait another couple days for a dyno sheet though.. tuner took it to make a copy and put it up on his wall :D thats all i gotta say

sounds fucking good! lol can i get a hint in a pm?

still havent seen the tuner so ill just tell you gals before a riot breaks out
413whp @ 21psi 8200rpms
448whp @ 25psi 8200rpms w/meth (more aggressive on the timing)

have barely been out of the driver's seat since. ill post the sheets when i actually get my hands on them. bastard must be framing them or something, its his highest on stock sleeves so far. :D

NICE! Deff get some vids up mayne! ^_^

That is pretty damn high for stock sleeves... But awesome man hope it holds up..

You need to post some videos of that beast
i know! school, work, gym and other things keep me busy. it was hard enough to schedule the time to get the damn thing tuned lol

soon my friend, soon. i need someone with a decent camera though.
The sig change is very nice...Short, but powerful statement.
 was trying to keep it short and to the point, lol

she'll be fine. stock bore, methanol, and i honestly dont rail on it much at all. it sees quite a few short pulls (ease into it to about 10-12lbs @ 5-6krpms, shift) but rarely do i run it all the way out. i just enjoy driving the car.

as some of you may have noticed in my exhaust video from WAYYYY back, the car has been smoking since day 1 of the completed build. i assumed for a while that the engine just needed some more miles on it to completely seat the rings. im determined to fix this problem now, as burning oil is a nice catalyst for detonation.

so far i have found this:
there is oil in the charge piping
the car is using oil
the car is smoking
the car DOES NOT smoke with the charge piping disconnected

all signs point towards the turbo needing a rebuild, but i want a second opinion and some other thoughts before i go rebuilding this turbo or buying a new one.

EDIT: upon doing some more research online, I'm more convinced that the turbo seals have shit the bed. damnit.

Sucks to hear that. My roommate is on his 3rd precision turbo in 2 years. The culprit was an improperly sized oil feed line. Too much oil pressure blew out the seals

ive been running a restrictor since day one, however; i am not sure that it is properly sized. like i said, the car has been smoking since i did the build. i havent put many miles on it, so i was never too concerned with it (assuming that it just needed some miles for the rings to seat) it appears to be ONLY under acceleration and at idle.

i let the car cool off, so im going to go out now and cold start it and see if it smokes at all with the charge piping disconnected. it should give me an idea of whats going on, hopefully.

If that isn't it, I'd suspect too much ring gap if it's been doing it since day one. That happened to my roommate as well.

My brother has a nice hd video recorder i can use. I would be happy to bring it out once washington pass is open to do a photo and vid shoot. Congrats on the dyno results. 448 at the wheels is awesome

Fernpatch- that'd be awesome. Need to find some decent roads to drive over here

99sidude- im hoping that's not the case, but I suspect it could be a problem as well. That could explain the smoke on start up. The only thing that's making me second guess that being the only issue is the amount of oil in the chart piping. There's a LOT.

Could be the turbo seals or the valve seals..

well, from what i understand, if it has something to do with the valve seals, the engine will typically smoke when decelerating.

my problem is occurring only when under acceleration as far as i can tell. im not 100% sure if I have the right thinking on this though.

so, i went out and cold started the car again to get a better look at things. prior to the charge piping being disconnected, the car would emit noticeably blue puffs of smoke that would sort of linger in the air around it for a few seconds.

it is now just emitting what appears to be steam (its cold outside) and none of it lingers. i think i have shot turbo seals.

im guessing im going to need to pull the intercooler off and drain it, as well as the other pieces of the charge piping considering this has been going on for some time.
