Have you looked through the manual and checked in the glove box? A lot of time, the code will be written down somewhere. Otherwise, I'd say contact your nearest dealer. We don't have any resources here that they don't unfortunately.

Yep, I agree as well. Just put an aftermarket unit in. Even if you can get the 1997 radio to work, it's still a 1997 radio. I'm guessing it has a tape deck, no USB port, no AUX port, maybe not even a CD player? There are some cheapies here that would be far better than what you've got: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=single+din+car+stereo&crid=SSZ99BH2DNC4&sprefix=single+din+,aps,215&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_11 That first one, the $29 Jensen would be a huge upgrade over the factory radio.
