I'm kinda stoked about our new toy in the shop.

Thermal Dynamics CUTMASTER 101. It's the nice one. It will cut up to 1 1/2 inch mild steel.

Cuts through stainless, mild steel, brass, copper, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, every kind of metal we could find. Cut's 3/4 inch steel like butter, and I cut through a 1/2 thick walled cast iron pipe no problem. It's fucking badass. :)

I love my job.

they really are amazingly fun when you get bored....

and I get paid to use it.

I could write my name in stainless sheetmetal in about 15 seconds. My boss wanted a demo, so I wrote "Mikey" in cursive handwriting. He was impressed by that, and all the other shit I cut. $2400 well spent.

That is so cool. you can make some pretty cool art i think... buy old broken tv's, computers and stuff, and make amazingly accurate cross sections. frame 'em and sell them on ebay. :)
