I need to know what exactly I need to swap a B16A2 into my 95 Civic . Wiring issues are my concern at this point.
Will the use of a ECU from a B16A3 fix the problem?

If you have any diagrams it would also help.

You should be able to back dated the ECU (use the delsol 94-95),as long as you can deal with the extra o2 sensor and different plugs you should be ok,but the OBDIIb may have some issues.I avoided it,but there are a couple on here that used it in the gen.

I talked to InlineFour and the guy, Brandon, I was talking to was real helpful. He told me to get a USDM P30 ECU and use a OBDII GSR Engine Harness and everything should be ok. The only problem right now is locating the engine harness and the ecu.
I was also thinking about using a OBDI P72 ECU if I can't find the P30, will that work?

Any suggestions.

don't do that. that's the hard way. running an obd2 gsr harness will make your swap hard as fuck.
:bash: to inline four. they suck.

Run the p30 obd1 ecu, as it plugs in to your stock civic wiring.
use your stock civic harness.
you will need to cut/solder plugs from the obd2 dizzy and injectors and you will need an obd1 b-series alternator. and depending on what trim civic you have, vtec wires

Do you have any diagrams or instructions on which wires need to be swapped out on the distributor and injectors? how about the alternator, I heard you need to do that one too?
I have a EX so the vtec is wired already. How about the knock sensor?

Also, how do you tell the difference between a USDM P30 and a JDM one???

Ok, I think I'm good now cuz I just found out that the motor that I bought, B16A2, actually came out of a DelSol Vtec and not an SI so it should be a straight plug n play. Am I overlooking anything? Am I wrong to assume that?

If it came from a 96-97 delsol it is still OBD II,but that is a little better than OBD IIb.

Damn, just when I thought I was cool.
I'm way too stressed out at this point and nothing is making sense. :(
Ok, so I still have to use a USDM P30 ECU and simply wire it up with a knock sensor, right? Or do I still have to do the whole wiring of the injectors, and distributor?

Does anyone have any instructions on how to do this exactly ????

Which one of these does yours look like ?

OBD IIb (left 3 plugs used)
OBD II ECU
OBD I ECU
OBD 0 (JDM PR3 and PWO)

It bought a USDM P30 ECU. I believe it is the OBD1 model. I don't have it with me so I can't tell you which one it is for sure.

Thanks, that helps a lot. The question I have is, how do you wire up the knock sensor though. How do I know where the wire is located on the engine? I think I know where to plug it on the ECU(slot D3), right?

There is a pin out in the articles section. But you just need to run the wire from your knock sensor (on the back of the block by the oil filter) throgh your fire wall to the pin point on the ECU.

Sweet, that's great.

Thanks man. I probably won't be able to get back online until Monday cuz I'll be too busy doing the swap. I'll let you guys know what happens then. Hopefully with some assistance from the Big Man upstairs everything will be ok and it'll run properly.

I meant my dad. My parents room is right over the garage.

Just playing, I just meant I hope I don't get hurt doing this. I'm probably going to be doing most of it by myself.
