Obd2 dizzy on obd1 harness

I have been trying to find out if you can convert an obd2 dizzy to work with an obd1 engine harness and ecu. I have been googling for hours and I have found a lot of info about it, but so much of it is conflicting. Is it just as simple as changing the plugs?
