Couldn’t find anything except double flares. So ... got some tune and tool from Eastwood. I’ll head to the parts store over the weekend for the tube nuts.

Got the old lines out except around the gas tank. Just folded them up. Gonna reroute the pass side line a different way. Got all my parts and tools. And my welder back so I could remove the exhaust clamps on the leaky cheater pipe. It isn’t super pretty but it’s much better!

The exhaust is sealed and I didn’t fuck up the fuel lines so onto brakes next. I practiced with the small lines so I can make sure my flares for the long lines are good. After a few tries and cries, I have 2 decent bubble flare lines. I did the rubber line for placement but I’m not going to do the rest of the gear until the long lines are done and the car is back on the ground.

The fuel lines are scrubbed and rust converted best I can but I have to wait until tomorrow to do another coat. Also did around the gas tank. Routed the long brake line and clamped it up to the body where it won’t rub anything.

I’ma fuckin foot short :dunno: and I didn’t get the extra line I could have finished that up tonight.

oh well. I’ll respray tomorrow and put a small foam block (plumbers pipe foam) where the lines go Under the xmember and be able to put that up after I spray.

then I can put it back on the ground so I can pull the Jetta in and do the wiper motor.

Got one side done. Taking my time between milagro and hotties on the patio.
But the stupid car had inverted flares are at the wheel cylinders. So I made 2 new flares.

Ran it for awhile after I washed them! We put a new spigot on the back accompanies by a new valve inside and took the time to run copper into the garage. Then I got the cutest electric power washer by ryobi and had a blast!

Finally moving on... pass side rear spindle was a bit crunchy when I put it all together. So I pulled it apart and went to order a new spindle but the arrival date was a month away. Polished that bad boy up and it torqued up properly and now we’re good to go to hook up the lines at the prop valve.

This seems like an endless basket case.
Have you been driving it during this whole time and working on it, or just a project at this point?

I drive it around the condo farm. Not much motivation plus other projects taking center stage.

I just want it perfect! Lol

So I started double checking my custom lines one is perfect the other had a slow leak. Cleaned up the flares and unions and was able to hold pressure but noticed I had a cracked wheel cylinder casting. Probably my trouble all along on this line. New one is here today.

After replacing the wheel cylinder I noticed I had the bubble flare at the wheel cylinder and the double flare at the rubber line. The wheel cylinder should get the double, rubber the bubble. Created 2 new flares that were better than the originals and holding pressure now.

Pulled the IM and TB to hook the lines up. So glad I removed the coolant lines from the TB when I put the engine in.
