Today I secured the lines in the firewall clips and bent them where they need to be. Lol

They aren’t rubbing on the steering bellows now.

After fighting with the lines and draining a ton of fluid into my hands and the firewall I said fuck it and drained the whole system. I couldn’t for the life of me get the lines to thread.

Once it was dry and everything was brake spray cleaned I pulled the prop valve away from the firewall a bit and everything threaded in nice.

Started bleeding the front and will do the backs tomorrow, then the front again to finish up.

Last thing on the list. Hello darkness my Old friend...

couldn’t get the outer off the hub so I broke it and cut it. Had a few spares anyways. Slammed it together on the bench with the festiva tool and it was just within the range on the low side. Pulled everything apart and gave the spacer a few scrubs across the sandpaper in each side for fucks. Repacked, repressed, reinstalled.

and all in the same day!

its really close! i want to rebleed the brakes again, i found a neat way to bench bleed the master cylinder in the car i want to try first. the ebrake is starting to adjust in but i will probably intervene at some point before taking it to inspection, i want it all tight so i can put the nut caps back on\. hoping to take it for a longer ride tomorrow and see how it goes if it doesn't rain.

I didn't realize this was a flip car.
Did you always intend to sell it when it was done?
Pics might pop a little more if you buffed the headlights, and put the floor mat in on the passenger floor board.

You put quite a bit of time and effort into this car, really making everything right.
It should provide plenty of good use to the next owner.

it wasn't but i figure its now good enough for me now why not see if i can get rid of it. i need to get better photos.

a miata will fit better in the garage with the bike, lol

Looking forward to the Miata thread.
Still on my bucket list. Hopefully with some forced induction, but we'll see.

The back of the car is all fixed up. More grease, and adjusted the ebrake it’s working nicely.

Onto the front clunk... and it’s the fkn replacement steering rack. Everything else is kosher even the strut. trying to see if warranty is worth it or just using a machined delrin bushing or tacking a washer inside with lots of grease.

it’s a press fit but slides smoothly over the piston. Greased it and slammed it back together and it’s so smooooove. Brakes good too !

Still waiting for my bushing so I ripped the interior out of the Kia, cleaned up all the rusty spots and put 2 coats of bedliner in.
