What little consensus there is on youtube leans towards there being an imbedded piece of metal, a bolt or some such. The demo is supposed to show that this furnace can heat the metal to a high temperature without directly heating the ice...which is what induction furnaces -do- after all.
Looked to me like a glowing light, then either water vapor or ice fog coming off of the ice block was illuminated, simulating flames.

FAIL...not real. Speculate all you want. Ice does not heat up until glowing red, catch fire, and still retain it's shape...That shit would explode...
