This past weekend I was in Virginia for the GT Live Time Attack at VIR. My friend Bill Washburn of DSG had his Nissan 240RS Maxi out for the rear wheel drive class of the Time Attack. I tuned the car and acted as crew chief for the weekend. Thanks to Ron and Q for the help! For those that don't know the GT Live event brings some of the best cars and drivers from Japan to run against some of America's best tuner cars. Our competition was the Autobacs S2000 Special which runs 57 second laps at Tsukuba.

It rained most of the way down on Thursday night, through Friday, mostly dry on Saturday for elimination and practice but soaking wet on Sunday morning when it came time to competition. We had no good rain tires, but enede up getting a free used set of Hoosier rains from a Grand Am team running a Porsche GT3 and the Hoosier guyts were cool enough to mount them for free!.

Thursday night driving through PA. The entire car was soaked, 100%. The ECU was covered in water and all of the wiring was SOAKED. Good thing Bill used an Autronic ECU and all Mil-Spec Deutch and Amphenol connectors in the car.

She fired right up Friday morning though.

GT Live at VIR- DSG wins RWD

We ended up taking 1st by 2 seconds the RWD category and sending the Autobacs/ASM team home shamed, maybe a bit more aware of USDM race shops. Hopefully they are back again next year!

Yup, Daddio took second place in the AWD category, only losing to the Cyber Evo which was retarded. The Cyber Evo with Taran Yamada driving was running ~9 seconds a lap faster than Daddio!

correction, its tough to come CLOSE to daddio. lol

Looks like a damn good time. We need to sell that damn neon. someone buy it. its up on craigs list.

DSG 240RS Maxi at GTLive/VIR - Google Video

Check out the in car! This was during practice, probably Bill's 10th or 15th lap at VIR. He was backing off to save fuel on the straights. The Civic in front of him is about 360 wheel HP and the 240RS would reel him in no problem with only 336 WHP. During actual competition Bill beat that Civic by ~3 seconds.

thats just unfair. you cant let yamada have the best car.

oh well freakin sweet stuff.
