Shit shit shit shit shit shhhhhiiiiittttttt!!!!!!!

There's more rust than I expected:(

and I haven't even turned it yet:mad:

I'm starting to feel that I bit off more than I can chew, and that it might be time to just retire this car. The rot is worse than I thought, and whats lurking under the under coating has me scared.

This might last a year or so to fix on my time schedule....and bank account...
:(

Well, tweeked up the rotis to align it a little better, just have one more bolt to drill, and the work can start...if I do any work to it.... :?

Don't feel bad. I started pulling the front and of the Z apart and snap about twenty bolts. I might need a new chassis too!

and do up the front end cross member completely...

its not that bad just going to take some time and when you are done with all the metal replacement you will be proud of your work that you done your self no mater how bad it looks no dont give up

also you might want to check in to dry ice blasting i think that is what im going to have done to my 72 an600 it is going to cost like 1k to have it done and that is on site

That's prolly the strongest weld out of all of them...deep penetration...

Well, the "rot is sorry" stand is officially complete....

red paint.....done.

fin....

I think I opened up a full can of worms....

But in a way...I'm glad the car gave me so many problems so I wouldn't drive it...it's temperament with old wires might have saved my life....

now I got to decide if I look for a new shell, junk this shell, and build up a new car, or rebuild this car completely....which might take a long time.....or build up the brown car in it's place, and sell all the stuff I put into the brown car...either way, I'll have a lot of work to do, with three project cars, 3 tons of parts, and a limited bank account....

Well...on to some of the rot.... natural weight reduction...rust.

Holy shnikeys, if you've got a rust free shell, use it. You can only drive one car at a time. No sense having two of the same car.
