Yes, but as an early adopter, you get first gen equipment. They have to give a credit.

It will get cheaper and better with time which may negate it all.

Plus, I may just do a Tesla roof as the shingle if it ever actually comes to market.

how much is a new roof? usually comes close to the same price as new roof + panels of the same output. Those powerwalls are probably $14k or more of that price tag.

Ok so lets say you got it installed this year. After the 26% Federal Tax Credit of $21,728 and the CT Green Bank Credit of at least $5000..you are really talking $57,000. It's financed over 15 years at lets say 3.99% you are talking like $421 with Solar + Powerwall backup. Do you really need the Powerwalls? That's probably at least $20k right there.

do the same math without the Powerwalls and your are at around $310 a month.
