i got a 1992 integra. I want to gut the ps. when i bought the car a couple months back, the belt was off the power steering system, so i have gotten used to driving it without ps, dont even care for ps, and therefore, the ps system is just dead weight for my car. what i was wondering is if power steering fluid acts as a lubricant for cars with a power steering rack, like engine oil does for an engine. am i messing up my rack by not having the ps hooked up? if so, about how long will it take to wear out, and what is the approxiamete cost of a new rack? thanks guys for your help!

im not getting anything tech related. dont want to bother anyone, but is there a good website for this. is there a non-ps rack that i could swap in?
