Work in progress!
So the wife and I are out sat night around 7pm dropping off some stuff to donate, and returning some stuff from Christmas. We stop at a red light when all of a sudden from behind us we hear screeching tires then a loud bang followed by two more bangs and a jolt. I look at my wife who is 8 months pregnant and make sure she is ok. I then proceed to call 911. I get halfway through explaining to the dispatch lady where we are and such when my call drops. I look back and see the other people on their phones I assume they called the cops as well. I am just about to get out of the car when the guy who was behind me comes up to my wife's side of the car and says the guy that hit us is drunk. I immediately get pissed off. So I get out and start back to see if everyone else was ok. I look at my car, just the bumper and trunk are damaged. The guy that ran into me is driving a ranger and its pretty messed up but drivable, the girl that hit him was in a corolla and its totaled. She's crying and her S/O is on the phone holding her. The idiot that ruined all of our nights is staggering around trying to hug everyone saying "I'm sorry" "I'm sorry" and that apparently is all he can say in English or in Spanish for that matter. The cops show up (of the 5 that show up 4 can speak Spanish fluently) they start questioning him and he can't tell them his name or write it down for them. All he kept saying was I'm sorry and putting his hands behind his back, and in-fact was so selfish and worried about himself going to jail that he doesn't tell anyone his buddy in the passenger seat is bleeding pretty bad from where his head hit the windshield. A medic, who was checking everyone out looks up from checking my wife's BP, just happens to look over and see him laid back in the seat apparently he's even more drunk. They take him for a ride to the hospital.
So we go get the police report yesterday and home fry's blood alcohol content when they got him to station was .20 just a little over twice the legal limit. It was at this point in time I wish I had told the other people to look away and that what ever the guy looked like after I was done with him was how he got out of the car looking. </rant>
Here's my bumper now. Maybe I can work a deal with the body shop and get them to paint the rest of my car pretty cheap.
