child safety lock on and door handle outside doesnt work

hey guys am in a bit of a jam i accidentally put the chidl safety lock on and closed the door. i attempt to open it from the outside but the handle jus cums up and down without any spring effect and it does open has anyone ever encountered da prob and i am currently seraching on google but any help is thankful

Sounds like your clip and rod came off the handle... I had that happen in a 98 one time, I spent an hour getting it aback open messing with the latch mechanism with the door panel off... good luck..

i can remove the panel cause of where the screws are located

Yeah, you're in a bit of the chicken/egg situation there.

Try to pry the top panel back a bit enough to get a slimjim/slimiar inside the door to manually move the rod. Then you can get the door open and re-build ht handel and latch.
