As many of you know, I just got a full time job which means more cash flow. Which to me means a new toy.

I'm going to keep the Integra for DD purposes because it's good on gas and won't attract much attention driving into Jersey City every day. Well not as much as the ideas I have for the new one.

    I'm between 2 options.

Option #1 "Project Fast Class": 4 door, FR, twin turbo, Japanese. If I still do this I don't want to give too many details.

Option #2 "Project Fix or Repair Daily": The past couple days the Integra has been on the rocks. I think it's the alternator but I've been working too much to diagnose it completely. So I've been driving my little sister's car around. 99' V6 Mustang Convertible. Well she wants to sell it. And for around the same price as the other project I can take her car, swap in a V8(swap to a manual or get a shift kit for the auto), slap on a blower, and have one hell of a summer/nice day cruiser. Cel's Death Mobile thread is also partly at fault for making me want something with a blower.

Now since it started as a V6, could I still insure it that way and save some green? Project #1 also starts as an I6 so I'm curious to what happens after I make it something else. But either way, what are your guys opinions, questions, and comments?

It won't be a Honda, or a Mitsu. And generally I'm a Chevy guy but this idea has me thinking differently.

The selling points for me on the Ford are the convertible, blower, and a dual side exhaust. The others either don't make a convertible(Subaru), they aren't readily available(Nissan), or out of my price range(Honda).

I voted # 1 because insurance on a 4 door, even with the twin turbo, would probably still be alot cheaper than on a V6 convertable mustang. Cops are less likely to pull you in a sedan (unless your going to go all out on the appearance which would increase your chances of theft/vandalism). And it's much more pleasing to surprise someone in a Mustang by spanking them in a little four door sleeper.

Just my oppinion, in the end you'll do whatever makes you happy =)

Mustang would look as fast as it is. "Other car" would look rather high class and surprise people with get up and go. However neither would look unmodified enough to be a real sleeper.

+1 i love that car. but its your choice as to what your getting..

Id go with the TT 4 door, cause everyone has a mustang. No matter what you do to it, its still a mustang.

I wonder how hard it would be to swap out the v6 auto combo and stick a 4.6 and 5spd in there.
I know that some guys have built the 3.8s up with good results.

I assume you aren't concerned with smog or inspection.

In that event, domestic. Parts should be cheaper than an import, and there is always a market for stuff like that in the event you chose to get rid of it. People will drop 10k on a Mustang with a blower in a heartbeat. Not to mention all the motors that are easily accessible to you.

That's one of the big selling points for me. As for smog, i figure I could get by with a Cobra blower with a small pulley on the day of inspection and a bigger pulley the rest of the time.

Honestly, I'd probably stay auto unless I found a great deal on everything I need to swap the tranny(parts car, etc.). As for going to a V8, I assumed it's like swapping an LS1 into a S10. IDK.

v6-> v8 is about as easy as putting an h22 in a v6 accord.

    fuck that.

I would just do the GS400 Twin turbo and try to source manual parts. Well that's my guess as to what it is. I would do one for a total VIP daily driver ;x. Something with some retarded aluminum polished or bronze deep dishes. But I also couldn't stand to drive any American car sans maybe a new Corvette z06 or better.

Have you thought about an e36? They are virtually bulletproof cars, and can be had for a decent price. Hell even decent M3's are going for sub 10k around here. Plus when you get bored, its supposedly pretty easy to swap in an ls1.
