I don't know why it bothers me that they didn't either paint the center grill completely orange or leave it completely black. doing half the job just seems lazy to me.
that was me... the 2016 are coming with a grey ring and black slats to match the lips. i wanted the whole grille to be gloss black.
everything matte black on my car is going gloss black. soon i will be spraying the mudflaps, and wrapping the rear diffuser, rear reflector bezels, and mirror brackets.
So before it went to the body shop I emptied the catch can.
Also before it went to the shop I busted the touchscreen like a dumbass. I was reaching into the car with my gloves in and hand slipped off the wheel and the screen took the brunt of my palm.
This was terrible to replace. It was nearly impossible to get the damn trim off. And then the screws holding the radio into the dash were so tight I needed an impact driver to get them out.
I picked up a base radio on eBay and swapped the touchscreen onto my head unit.
Good to go now though!
Hoping to get the suspension on this weekend. And wheels.
it is just not yet warm enough to change the colors - still wake up to 35 degree temps with midday highs in the 50s.
the lips are going from red to gloss black.
there is no flat/matte black up front anymore. it's all gloss black now (grille, bezels). the hood and fuel door are real carbon fiber.
the purple wheels will probably stay. im not really sure what to do about them yet.
So the slick debacle! January i purchased a matched set of brand new 2 year old never mounted BFG R1S from a seller in southern CA. they arrived, happily no issues. i went to mount them and two of them cold cracked at the sidewalls. probably from sitting in a fedex trailer in the northeast for a weekend. i was so mad. i got them over to sears tire center which is a BFG retailer / warranty dealer and they setup a claim for me but could not sell me 2 replacement S tires. they could only get the harder R1 . so off to town fair tire who could order me the tires. they worked with me to get me ~80 bucks back per tire but i had to but 2 brand new ones at 265 apiece. sucked ass. still waiting for my refund from BFG.
at TSMP decreased my lap time from 1:35 to 1:31 . super happy about that after some suspension tweaks. turning traction control off also saved my breaks a bunch.
