Anybody could do what I do... Just need to know what your trying to accomplish. Have a goal, and just make it happen.
Thank God for HS and HT, which is where I get ninety-nine percent of my information from.
It's so sad, because that's where alot of people go for their info. And there's sooooooooooooooo many freaking n00bs out there who have ZERO real world mechanical experience.. I mean, actually getting dirty and bloody from workin on and screwing up yoru own stuff... And they'll go aread spreading mis-information and making everything seem all rosey and stuff. Freaking BS.
Andrew and I are fortunate, as we both have access to several great mechanics who have contributed soo much to what we have done and know how to do.
I dunno about Andrew, but I consider myself an idiot when it comes to working on cars.
It's only on rare occasions, like when my buddy and I were about to pull the head off his car and take it to a friend.. We weren't even concerned at all about doing it or anything like that at all.
I realized while we were in his kitchen, getting ready to tear his engine apart that there are soooo many people who wouldn't have a freaking clue and/or would be scared to death to do it.... But me or him weren't worried at all. We just wanted to do it as quickly/clean as possible. (took about 45 mins to pull the head).
I actually felt like I was a halfway decent mechanic for a fleeting moment .
Yeah I've been throwing around both ideas. I have the nitrous kit, but don't want to put it on my B16. I'm going to build the B16 with a (more than likely) stock or possibly slightly lower compression setup. #1 reason being, I have the option to boost it. #2 is that I can run low octane fuel if I'm ever in a crunch and don't have any other options.
My plan right now :
Probably in April, I'd like to swap the D back in with the lower compression headgasket and get that motor running again. Then probably spray it to 'get my feet wet' in the wide world of nitrous.
