SO today I went to Turbokits.com to get tuned by BTRcc. Canned / custom tune.
Car has 31100 miles
1.6 NA Manual
Turbokits CAI and ABE
Nameless Racing poly dogbone mount
eBay catch can
89 octane
The first pull, load up and roll up 151whp 128wtq. They run the car again.. Same numbers. It's a factory freak. There have been zero modifications to the tune at this point. The men pull the ECU and do their magic run the car again. 154whp 131tq. I'm only building extra power now due to the extra 400 rpms generated by the tune. Last run full bore 160whp 134wtq. It was tuned conservatively, timing advanced 1.5 degrees and makes power from zero to go.
SO very unexplainable. This was witnessed by no less than 12 folks. It was not the first car run that day, and all the cars run that day ran consistent numbers with BTR's findings. But not this one. Unfortunately this means that there is no way that BTR can use it in their findings as it is inconsistent. So please do NOT ask BTR any questions about the tune or how it was achieved - it was done the say way as all the other cars that day. This is I believe the first manual NA stateside that they have run as all the other NA cars so far were autos or DCTs. BTR may correct me on this. This also means the same for the TK equipment, please do not use my car as a baseline or achievement because chances are it's a 1 in a (insert proper ration number here) chance for this to happen. Other things that happened : increased fuel cut to 7200 rpms and removed 5% of the throttle delay.
I've always thought my car had more oomph than all the other NA cars I've driven or run with. This obviously proves that fact. I've attached a dyno to show the difference between the TK demo car with the same performance enhacing modifications. It is obviously, very different.
I can't say anything but great things for Sam and his crew at BTRcc. They were all very professional and Sam offered sound advice for alot of folks interested in achieving more power and the safe way to do so. Plus they worked really fast! Jesse and Rob from Turbokits.com are always great and it's only because of them that I had this opportunity.
I've put about 65 miles on the tune since I had it done. So far driveability is completely normal. The throttle response is great. The 1-2 lag is still there a little bit if you shift very quickly but MUCH better. I'll still be throwing the switch when the timer is running at the track
The car does feel really good! Average mileage is a little higher at the moment. The car pulls in 6th almost immediately even on a small incline at 65+ mph. The extra revs does great justice to keeping the car in the flat torque band!
Here is the video of the process and findings.

This is the one, the only TK midpipe ever created with a hi-flow resonator. This was never sold with the ABE due to it actually losing a little power. We're going to test it out on my vehicle and I should be back in a week or two to get another run with this pipe. Hopefully it works out and makes some power, or at the very least I'd be OK with losing a little top end to gain some torque!
