distributor problem

sorry if you heard this one befor but i have a 94 da 1.8l and it was running like it droped a cylinder, so i did all the normal tune up stuff (plugs,cap,rotor) and the car ran the same so while the car was running i pulled off the #1 plug wire, and after a few seconds the car died sounded like someone just turned the key off...well its been a while now and i cant start the car back up?? it has not started scince it died?? i checked all the teeth on the timing belt and it looks new?? and car is in time and belt has good tension... i am thinking i killed the distributor but ?????? will a distributor drop a cylinder befor it goes out?? please help
 
Yea check for CEL's. If the distributor is bad you will have eitehr of these codes...
4 CKP - Crank Angle Sensor
8 TDC - Top Dead Center
9 CYP - Cylinder Pos. Sensor
15 Ignition Output Signal

If you have any of these codes you may as well replace the Distributor of have it reubilt.
