How are you figuring that an H22 head swap will cost approximately the same as a complete H22 swap with tranny included???
And yes, an H22 Lude is faster than an H23-equipped car, but what the other guy said is true...you can spend the same amount of money on a turbo kit for your H23 and come out faster in the end.
the short answer is no there is not that much diffrence. also the h22 can be found in junkyards for around $300 +shipping check the links section here there is one that will take you to a junk yard part finder, it searches junkyards across the us and canada. I found an h22 head in FL for 250 +shipping the jdm h22 longblock is well over one thousand prolly closer to 2
If you're so sure about all of this stuff than why are you on here asking us about it? There's got to be an advantage to the H22 head swap on the 2.3 block or else no one would do it.
And I still don't get how you think the head swap is going to be the same price as a full H22 swap with tranny and computer.
