yeah, i really want a car i get to drive for 3 minutes a year.
Did I make a wrong click and end up on HT? So now a person wanting to buy a legit race car to legally race on a real race track with real safety features is a stupid idea on this site? WTF?! Is Hondaswap now the "Only OEM style DD Honda or else get your dreams shat on" site. I get bashing ricers and their lame body kits but I thought this kind of build was at least commendable. Not everyone wants/likes to drag race, but at least they're doing it right. What's wrong with that? Not everyone only wants a Honda that just gets good gas mileage and can go from point A to point B with some slight mods.

what other response would you expect? ever since this forum was created, people here enjoy autox and road racing much more.
if he posted an eg with a k20 swap, ohlins suspension, gutted with seats and harness i would totally agree with it.
the point of a forum is to share views and opinions. my opinion, i don't care for drag wasting and think $12000 for a car that only gets used a couple times a year is a waste.
it's a good build, good price, and neat car. but i wouldn't spend my money on it.

people who enjoy drag racing would love road racing. just imagine a real world forza race in your own car. seriously, it's the biggest rush ever.

Wow.. I just posted this car because I liked it honestly. I don't even drag myself but I liked the fact its all motor and it looks to be done right. Not no half ass riced out wanna be.
Yes, you're right. Some of the mods and also regulars are into road racing/autocross and the like (myself included) but we get more questions on here about drag racing and adding power than we do about circuit driving technique and suspension setup (im talking tuning for the track, not looks/comfort feel.) Just casting out an entire group of enthusiasts with a HUGE industry behind it because it isnt (in your argument) the most popular of the crowd is retarded.
I grew up at the drag strip and on my own found that I too enjoy road racing, possibly more even. But drag racing is so much more accessible at an entry level. That car posted may not be entry level but just as you dream of "an eg with a k20 swap, ohlins suspension, gutted with seats and harness," some dream of said car posted.
Sharing ideas and opinions is great. It allows forums to thrive. But just outright bashing anothers viewpoint/preference does nothing but turn people away.
Edit: Oh and its 12000 with trailer, hes willing to seperate the two and Im sure the price is negotiable. And if youre one thats willing to buy a car like that you'd be driving it a lot more than just a handful of times a year. National Trails Raceway in Columbus OH is open from late March to the end of October. Thats around 30 weekends to race it even in an area that gets shitty weather. Live in FL or CA and youve practically got the whole year to enjoy it. I wouldnt buy it, but if someone wanted to I wouldnt try to talk them out of it.
