Aight, I'm going to paint you guys a picture...I live and work at an apartment complex as the maintenance man as I have for the past 2 years. I have gotten to know all of the other tenants and I feel like they have gotten to know me and trust me very well. I take out the elderly tenants trash and even help them if tey have car trouble. I consider most of the people here as friends. Well, there was this person that lived in an apartment with a second gen Eclipse. I noticed him walking up the stairs with a cold air intake and a box with a set of ricer headlights and tail lights. I saw this chance to introduce myself since I was also a car guy. He told me that he didn't know how to put all of that stuff on his car so I offered to give him a hand with it over the weekend. He accepted and I put them on for him and he offered me $40 for installing them. I declined his offer and told him he owed me one like I do for everyone else I try to help around here. Now, 2 years later I have installed a molded in Blitz body kit, carbon fiber wing, neon lights, a lowering kit and shaved body lines and antenna. I love working on cars so I didnt mind the work at all because any time I needed to go get a part formy car or anything like that he was there. Well, he got married to this "I'm better than everyone else because I'm black" type of woman. Now don't get me wrong, I am not even close to being racist. The guy was black too! But anyways he moves out of his apartment and into hers. I had to go in and make the apartment ready for a new tenant. When I walked in I noticed that the carpet was really bad but we were going to replace that anyway as we have been doing for all of the apartments. The next thing I notice is the dark green paint in the kitchen, the red and black striped bedroom, the brown bathroom and the red shower enclosure and tub. OK, in the signed lease it states that if you do paint your apartment, it is to be painted back to the origional color before moveout. There were also holes in the walls, the countertop looked like he set a pan of boiling grease on it and blistered it in 2 places, I'm talking this place was trashed. The deposit that he had paid was $475. That didnt even begin to cover the damages. Needless to say he lost the deposit but we decided that we wouldn't sue for further damages. His wife had a FIT! She could not believe that he didnt get his deposit back and said that we held his deposit because they are black. OK, this hurt my feelings a little bit because I have never been accused of anything like that before and because I had lost someone who was once a good friend. But she didnt stop there. She went to Fair Housing and is pressing charges against us for discrimination. On top of that BOTH of them are spreading around that the last time I went into their apartment something came up missing but they wont tell us what...So now people are starting to think that I am a racist theif. I'm seriously thinking about quitting my job and moving because I'm so tired off all this bullshit.
