Hi, I'm a newbee in the swap world I'm from Barcelona, Spain, here it is very little common see engine swaps, it is difficult to find pieces and distributors and the law is very restrictive.

I only know 2 people that they have done a swap, I don't believe that there are but of 10 in all the country. This guis have the same swap, B16A2 into a '92 -'95 civic cupe 1.5 vtec.

I have an EG6 '92 Civic Hatchback with B16A2 stock 160hp. The possibility has left me of obtaining an Honda Integra Type R engine (DC2 190hp) but days ago I found a '04 Civic Type R (euro) wrecked. It has motor (K20A2 200hp) and mechanics in good state and the engine are really new, only have 3000km (1864 miles).

For that reason I am watching the possibility of mounting the CTR motor, although the advantage of the ITR is that he is but simple and cheap much that swap of K20A2.

I believe that the ITR motor will not defraud to me, but I would like to mount K20A2, have to be impressive, I like your videos

that it seems to you?

Thanks

IMO, you'd be better off with the ITR motor just because of the experiance factor alone. You'd have to order everything through the mail, and if you need a custom part, you won't be able to get it very quickly. Now if you have the time and money to throw at it, the K is pretty damn impressive.

the k20a2 is a VERY difficult swap, and VERY expensive.

it costs about $3000 US dollars more to do than a DC2 R- spec swap.

You can build the ITR to outpower the K20, and still come in far under the cost of a K20 swap.

If you can get the k20a2 for cheap I'd do it, just as how impressive it is.

wierd ......you already have a b16....why dont you just Port and Polish and toss the block and get a gsr or ls block....

thanks for all its answers :D

The ITR (only engine, tranny, wiring and ecu) costs me 3500€ (4165 US dolars) and the wrecked CTR costs 5000€ (5950 USD) withe engine 1900 miles, tranny, transmision, headers, radiator, and some parts that I can sell like seats, cockpit, steering wheel, headlights, rear bumper, door panels, wheels, suspensions, ...

Dude, your conversion is way screwed up.

Today the rate is 3500€ = $4,182.94
5000€ is $5,978.13

Which is about right for both motors.

if, I have been mistaken, I did it of inverse form, thanks;)

right now I believe that I will buy the ITR engine and the B16A2 that exceeds to me I will keep it to mount it in a CRX '90 (D16Z5 124hp) which I have in the garage.

get the k20 powered car, and sell all the un needed parts on EBAY to make the money back. and then do the k20 swap.
