I'm moving to Australia. When the shit hits the fan, I'll be alive going, "WTF mate?"
And no GMOs in my food......with no guns
And no GMOs in my food...
As far as guns go, it's actually a system similar to NJ. Apply for a permit citing a reason (as easy as hunting or target shooting), wait the prescribed time, get your gun. Only real difference I've seen is that they have different permits for pretty much every different type of gun.
What's the gub'ment letting/not letting me do?

I was more asking which ones I had referenced. I realize I have limited "rights". What I said about Australia was not just a joke, I'm seriously entertaining becoming an expatriate. Doesn't hurt that 3 of the top 10 "livable cities" are in Australia.buying an 16?
watching a donkey show?
have a private conversation on the phone?
send private emails?
let you drive your car as fast as you're capable of?
have a real voice on how laws are written and which ones are passed?
And those are just social issue.
There's a lot actually. Part of me wants a real democracy, but then I remember how many people love jersey shore....so i live with what i got, but it could always be better.
On a worldwide scale they are more limited rights. They use to be like Texas, if you can load it, you can own it, but then there was a few high profile incidents followed by a media campaign to limit rights. Sounds familiar...O for some reason i thought Auss. made people turn in all their guns and then crime rates increased.

Hi all, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down
Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new
law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million
dollars.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are
up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44
percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals
did not, so the criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed
robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12
months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the
elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has
decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in
‘successfully ridding Australian society of guns….’ You won’t see this on the
American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly
disseminating this information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest
citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the
law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it’s too late!
Syria is a mess of a situation right now, but that eutimes site in the OP reports on aliens invading earth and things of that nature.
