Currently i have a D16Y8 in my crx and came across a cheap Z6 engine that i want to rebuild. It's got 220k miles on it and ran fine. I have been toying with a setup that will give me around 12.3:1 compression ratio using Z6 block, PM3 pistons, Y8 head and gasket. I've never done a build up...
The shifter shouldn't matter should it? I can't remember where i got the shifter but it's pretty generic i think. I just need to know what the stock counterweight weighs. It's seperate from the shifter but is connected to the shift linkage??? radius rod? i don't know whatever is between the...
When short throw shifer was insalled, the counterweight under the shifter was cut-off to clear exhaust. I'm getting vibrations so i need to put some sort of weight back on. The weight is actually attatched to the rod that connects to the bottom of the shifter. Basically i just need a rough...
I have a D16Y8 in my rex and mine is setup using a 95 civic Si intake manifold and a P28 (both of which are from a 92-95 civic Si)...that way you're OBD1 and you have a better ECU to work with. i have found some sites about the D16Y8 just search google for "crx D16Y8" i belive...if any...
Picked up a pair of Perfect Circle ball joints from pep boys for my 88 CRX, a service station told me to get the honda ones but they are like 2x the price. I know i am being stingy but has anyone here used the perfect circle ones and had a problem? any feedback at all will help.
THANKS,
Vince
I'm gonna check the rear LCA before MaliWho has a heart attack...the reason i was asking is because i have no rear speakers/no rear sway bar/no rear wiper and some other stuff everyone says determines whether you have an HF or not but hey when i went to put new rotors on my car the calipers were...
well i guess i should have been more clear...you guys are correct however i have a D16Y8 swapped in the car and have no idea what engine was in there before.
Anyone else?
THANKS!
I have a 1988 CRX and when i bought it was told it was an HF, however i think some of the parts, brakes in particular, resemble that of the Dx. Does anyone know how to truely tell them apart? Would it be in the vin # somewhere? THANKS!
I've been looking at getting some new shock and Tokico HP and KYB GR-2 shocks are around the same price. Which are better? anyone have feedback on either of them? THanks!
I was screwing with my 88 CRX and wanted to adjust the clutch cable so that i didn't have to let the pedal out all the way untill i felt some friction when driving. My hanes manual says that there should be .75-1 inch of "arm freeplay." Does this mean the amount of cable slack that moves...
Yo man for some reason the email won't go through...i put an order in at a junk yard today but i think i can still cancel it. What condition are they in? what car are they from? and how much do you want shipped to Philly area? Thanks, Vince
I found a 1990 Civic hatch back DX model at a junk yard near me and wanted to know if i could easily swap the front calipers (and rotors) off that car into my 88 CRX HF. I'm pretty sure that an 88 CRX/CIVIC DX caliper would bolt right on (correct me if i'm wrong), but i heard that the brakes...
Just wanted to know if there are 2 fuel filters in an 88 HF...i replaced the one under the hood but i heard there was one under the car near the gas tank. thanks
I've heard of people advancing their timing above stock reccomended specs, but why do they do this? what benefits are there? Right now the only mods i have are Intake, headers, exaust on my D16y8. I just want to know if i am missing out on anything and hoping to gain some knowlege on what...
Yeah it says to keep it at 750rpm's when checking your timing however in my case i couldnt get my rpm's up that high. and yes you need to jump your service connector before checking and adjusting timing. this is because if you dont your computer will try to compensate for your...
