Hi all.
I've actually had a minute here and there to ponder a bit more about my turbo B-series build. So far I am thinking that I will end up going with an a/c compatible Ramhorn style manifold. The question I often ponder about is whether or not there is really a difference between some. Granted I know that what kind of steel they are made of and the type of turbo/wastegate flange matter but really, what else does?
Here are a few links to two of the manifolds that I have deemed to be worthy from what little knowledge I have. Notice that at least to me, the biggest difference in both is price.
The synapseturbo.com manifold, pictured below, can be flanged for either a 38mm or 44mm wastegate but does not specify the turbo flange. The price for this manifold is listed at $699.
.: Catalog :: Synapse Turbo :.
The PeakBoost manifold pictured below and the first quality Ramhorn I ran into, features a T3 turbo flange and a 38mm wastegate flange. I wonder if one would be able to get a different size flange on either end. This one is listed at $899.
Peakboost B-series A/C Ramhorn
Please feel free to comment on these or any others you may know about. It would be nice to hear from someone that has used an a/c compatible manifold before as well. I just want to make sure that before I save and spend so much money, these style manifolds will be worth it for my particular application.
I will be looking to make upwards of 330whp+ on my build, which by what Calesta has told me, is quite a conservative goal the way that I am going. 400whp could easily be achieved with patience and planning easily.
Thanks to everyone in advance for their input.
EDIT: Here is another site that I found with a mini ram/dump tube combo.
