I couldn't get it from doubling up each picture. Anyways, this is on a jdm gsr motor. It is supercharged thats why it looks so cluttered.

I think that's it! The TB that came with the d15b I don't think has that little metal thing for the charcoal canister hose to clamp onto. And there's another tiny one on the tb?

EDIT: by the way, what's the other tiny metal thing on the front right of the intake manifold?

Thanks a lot for the help I'll be printing these pics out and bring them with me to the shop for reference.

Ignore the other little hose in that picture... its a hose for the supercharger kit. I'm not sure what tiny metal thing you are refering to.

Thats just the vacuum fitting. I'm not sure if it is removable or not. From the sound of it, I'm guessing yours is missing. But I'm out for the night, its late. Im glad to help.

92 D15B swap (bad gas milage)

I recently put a D15B vtec into my 1992 Honda Civic. The problem is that it is a Japanese engine into it and I have an American ecu with american components. I runs very rich and goes trough way too much gas ~12mpg no joke!!!. I still need to set the timing right but what could cause it to go through so much gas:confused: I love my honda but it is running rough and wouldn't want to drive anything else but with gas over $3 a gallon i need some help.:(

UPDATES!!!!

So I went up to the shop today and put on the d15b7 intake manifold. IT WORKS!! The vacuum lines all hooked up turns out 2 were missing on the new manifold. I'm still having some trouble though...

See the car's finally driveable now, drove it home today :D and would've took pics if it were daylight. But..about the sound. It idled really erratically at first, and still sounded like rev limit at around 2500 to 3000 rpms and got louder and slower just like before. Then my shop teacher did some tweaks and I tried again. Gone. The idle is just fine now, but now I have to rev it up past about 3000-4000 for it to get into 1st gear and into 2nd. Idle's just fine, then 2500-3000 rpms it sputters, then after that it's ok....what's going on here? My shop teacher says it's most likely a vacuum leak but I checked all the lines and they all seem fine. What could this be?

While your at it, take off and clean the iacv and fitv (idle valves). They get gunked up and mess with the idle. Do a google search, theres some good writeups on it.

The idle's fine now that may be what my shop teacher did while I was at the wheel doing the revving while he was doing some small tweaks here n there.

How much of a pain in the ass is the timing to check? My teacher was telling me Hondas in particular are a bitch to time.?

yea take em off and spray em down with carb cleaner... the iacv is on the back of the intake mani...2 hoses attached to it with one plug. should do some good

i have a d15b in my ef..what ecu you have? im using a p28 with no problem....32mpg...no joke

Ignition timing is easy to check. Just get a timing light and follow the directions. Just get a d-series fsm for specific istructions. Its available online for free. To adjust it, loosten the three bolts on the dizzy and rotate it.

For the cam timing, pull the upper timing belt cover and make sure the cam gear and the crank is both at tdc.

The b7 intake manifold is going to choke down your engine. If you are positive that your d15 manifold is fucked up then id go for a z6 manifold.

So I shouldn't be using the manifold from my d15b7? That's what it sounds like it's choking or running lean. And my d15b manifold's fine it's just that it doesn't have the extra vacuum port on the TB which really made a difference.

Maybe I should put the d15b manifold back on and just switch TB's? But the TB looks like it doesn't come off the IM. There's like a bolt on it with no head or nut.
