Wrong again, the f20b is not an obscure motor found only in European accords. It is also the power plant in the jdm accord sir which is readily available for a decent price from any engine exporter. When you assume you make an ass out of you and me. Perhaps you should take into consideration the popularity of the h series swap and the possibility that this guy would like to do one.
Wow..never heard the assume = ass out of you and me thing before...that's sooooooo original and hilarious...
(Please note the sarcasm)
Anyways...fine, you win. Yes, the F20B was available in both edm and jdm vehicles and can be had minus the transmission and ecu for around $1500.
One thing though...assumptions only make asses out of people when they're wrong. The H2B kit sells for around $1300 on average, so not exactly cheap. Plus, he's still looking at custom mounts and some trimming to fit the engine, so doing this is NOT going to be the cost effective solution...
Like I said before, it depends on what he's looking to do. If he just wants a drop-in bolt-up motor swap to get his car running again, then the obvious answer is to put another B-series in it. If he wants to spend around 4-5 grand and has a specific reason for wanting the F20B/B-series tranny combo, then it's something to look into...
He never even said what model his Integra is anyway. If it's a GSR then he's got a tranny with short gears and good acceleration, and the H2B might be worth it. If he's got an RS/LS, then the H2B would be pointless because the LS transmission sucks balls...furthermore, he didn't even say whether the car is manual or automatic...if the car is an auto then obviously it would be completely pointless...
You're making a lot of assumptions too here...
