She should check out the Lynda.com tutorial"Food and Drink Photography". Her pictures are pretty good, but the lighting is kind of flat. There's even one of the parts dealing with specular lighting that he is using a strawberry strudel that looks like those pigs in a blanket

Is that slices of lotus root on the piece of sushi on the top left? I've never heard of that but I think it would be delicious!
