So here's the update of the century..
I'm kinda shaking right now, but yah anyway, I fixed the VSS, so the car would go above 4500 and actually go into boost. Wastegate spring is set for 8lbs. I just took the car out on the road next to my house and literally scared the shit out of myself. I rolled through the bottom of first and gave it some juice at about 2500-3k, turbo started spoolin up and before i knew it I was at 7800, so time to shift. shifted into second, spooled to 8lbs and tore through second gear and accidentally bounced off teh rev limiter.. but the whole time the front end was drifting across the lane due to wheelspin, after that I put it in third and coasted (speed limit 45) home, let it cool down, and shut it off, then damn near shit my pants with joy.
Will post vids soon hopefully, need to get some cosmetic stuff squared away.
Haha. Yeah. The first time I drove a boosted car, I got it up over 170mph in like 10 seconds. It's scary. I know exactly how you're feeling right now. Even my civic boosted made me feel like that.
Which leads into something that my dad says "Everyone is addicted to boost, whether they know it or not. Everyone."
Its definitely a good feeling, and yes I can assure you that I'm officially addicted to boost now, lol.

An Audi TT with the boost control disabled. So, uh, I think it was boosting like 1.5bar.

JESUS, no wonder lol.
Cut wastegate line? Or what? I thought the factory ECU's cut fuel at a certain level, but I'm not sure. At least thats the way my Volvo is. Cuts fuel at 15psi.

Well, it was a little more than that. I didn't want to put anything into the car since it wasn't mine. On a VW if you boost too much, it triggers a CEL, which makes it start working in a limp mode of sorts that the dealer has to clear.
Basically, I borrowed someone's VAG cable, and cut a small slice with a razor blade in the boost solenoid line, then removed the air filter. That shit was so fast. I think it boosted a max of like 1.6BAR, with pretty good spool time. I'm sure the rental car agency didn't mind either.......![]()
