its no real issue messing with that stuff. as long as the access is reasonable its just a few bolts and a clamp?

I'm just not comfortable around gasoline fumes and the rust is so bad everywhere in that area of the truck.

We would normally just take off the bed on a pickup to access the fuel tank, etc.
Manageable with 2 guys if you remove the tailgate, much easier with 4 people.

Gas tanks on S10's and similar can be tricky.
It's likely the sending unit or seal, but it could be anything from the filler neck to the seam in the gas tank itself.
I've seen failure in just about every area of the S10 fuel system.

If you are worried use a brass punch, no spark. My truck was leaking for a while so I think the residue left from the gas made it harder to remove. It was also rusted.

Thats why I had the red Ranger...to haul shit with. And it wasn't a lowrider...it was a bagged minitruck. You should know that! Lol
