Umm hey guys, I'm going to be moving out here soon. When I move out I'm going to need all the help I can get... I'm going to be working a full time job and going to college. Money is going to be tight, what's wrong with me getting some help from the government?

The government will help you. They've set up provisions especially for this. Fill out a FAFSA and reap the benefits. I don't really see how your situation has any bearing on what's being discussed here...

Funny because I look to hit about $75k my first year out of school and am effectively pushed into the same tax bracket as B.

I guess I shouldn't bitch that they want to take more money from myself than you, but wait, this just in - I have ~$25,000 of debt for school because I was proactive and attended a college that would further the success of my career.

I invested a whole hell of a lot more than you did to get to where I am now. Is this taken into account when we're blindly robbing me of my hard earned money?

Great, I've got double the debt and half the income. Shut the fuck up.

Sure he pays more, but he can afford it.

Who the fuck are YOU to tell ME what I can afford?

Get the fuck out of my pocket.

If you were a person and you treated me this way, I would call the police and call it robbery. If you're the government, I'm supposed to smile and not bitch that my taxes are too high?

Weren't you just calling someone out for suppressing other voters' voices?

and THAT is Marxism
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

Yip. If this fucking idiots had their way, B would pay $10 for a loaf of bread that they onyl have to pay $2 for, just because "he can afford it", fuck that.

Thats another thing. Life sentence = chair. I'm not feeding and housing someone for the rest of their lives because they are too fucking retarded to live in a civilized world.
Your state is the only one that the chair is actually cheaper. Because they actually fucking execute people. The MAJORITY of lifers, die on death row, not from the needle, chair, gun, gas, or rope, but natural causes. And because of a higher cost to run death row, the way things work now, a death sentence actually costs more money.

Let's face it, EVERY system in this country is over complicated and run completely backwards. Rules should be cut and dry.

Example: You are sentenced to death. You have two years to file ONE appeal. If you're still guilty 730 days later, to the second, you are executed. If you would like to skip the 2 year waiting period and get yours early, that is allowed too. Someone point out a problem with that.

Taxes: Everyone is taxed 24.33%(average of all percentages). Those funds are used for the public. Systems that are fucked(welfare, etc.) are not revamped. They are thrown out and cut and dry systems take there place. If a system is not needed, a new one is not put in place.

These things must be treated like a science experiment. Results must be valid, reliable, measurable, and have set time periods.

Great, I've got double the debt and half the income. Shut the fuck up.

Great, I invested much more time and effort than yourself and am more successful. Do you want me to apologize? I still feel poor and am not satisfied with my income. I should have to answer to people like yourself that try to limit my amount of success?

If I did that, I would have never made it out of where I came from in the first place.

No, I got off my ass and didn't settle and I will continue to strive to excel and not settle. I will continue to invest in my future and further my education so I am more valuable to a company.

First and foremost. Fuck you. We straight with that? Good.

Secondly, you're all about shifting YOUR burden onto us with a "flat tax"... yeah let's see how much we can muster when we use the lowest common denominator as our base. We'll go ahead and let everyone pay the LOWEST amount of tax and see just what we can afford at the end of the year.

Hint: Not much.

Hint: Cut social programs and government spending.

Create real budgets that divisions of the government must actually adhere to and not just use as guidelines.

Get it? Its called responsibility. Its why this country is fucked and its why you didn't make more of yourself.

Success is what you make of it. If you did all that work and are still bitching, then the problem lies with you and you alone. Me, I'm happy with my income, job and life. If you are still scraping shit off the table to claim as your own and you make that amount of money... you got a problem.

Oh, and I must have smoked crack through my life and rode the government's coattails. Fuck you.

The rich get tax cuts. The poor get budget cuts.

Good little conservative... towing the line like you always do.

No see, there is no problem with myself being unsatisfied with my current situation. This is how we progress and drive change.

I hang quotes like these on my wall so I don't become content like yourself;

"There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction." JFK

"Of all things in life, fear complacency most."

"I refuse to tip-toe through life to arrive safely at death."

"Rule #76, No excuses, play like a champion."

"No one ever made it through life by simply being content."

"With ignorance and arrogance, success is assured." Mark Twain

"Conditions are never just right. People who delay action until all factors are favorable are the kind [of people] who do nothing."

"Use, do not abuse; neither abstinence nor excess ever renders man happy." Voltaire.

"You just have to ask yourself, is the juice worth the squeeze?"

I believe those things, I live those things. The last thing I want in this life is to look back and to say I could have been more successful but I didn't try harder. I still kick myself for not going to an Ivvy League school because I didn't get my shit together in High School. That burden falls on myself. Many other people would blame other causes.

Oh, and I must have smoked crack through my life and rode the government's coattails. Fuck you.

No, you smoked pot and played video games while I read, networked, and otherwise honed my skills.

Being successful in life takes hard work, dedication, and persistence. I don't expect to pick up a football and be Steve Young.

Fuck you guys. I was perfectly content before these threads not realizing how twisted and distorted some people's point of views can become.

See, you see things a bit differently. What you call "content", I call reliable, I call loyal. The people I work with are more than steps to a higher paycheck for me. These are my friends, my family, the ones I work alongside every day to make ends meet.

Life to me is more than how much I make or how close my parking space is to the front door.

The skills I use were honed long before yours. My skills were being sharpened when I was 14. They now have a razor edge. I can make more, hell I could make more money right now at another job. But ya know what? It means more to me than money.

That's something school can't teach you.

You're right, my bullshit detector was not learned in school.

You just cried that you had more debt than myself than you claim that you're readily capable of earning more money, yet somehow you do not do so. Sounds logical and completely reasonable.

...or perhaps more accurately you're delusional and have an inflated perception of your actual value.

"Use, do not abuse; neither abstinence nor excess ever renders man happy." Voltaire.
I like that one.

And I'm of the same school. I got into UDel but went to Rowan. I kick myself every day for that. My older sister went to UDel. I had better grades at Rowan than she did there. Her first year salary might be what I make year 5. Not to mention that I had the grades in HS to go to U of Maryland and do even better. I regret that every day, but rather than mope about it, I'm going to hustle and make something for myself anyway. If at any point in the the next twenty years I don't make more than the year before, that year gets chalked up as a failure. I forget where I got this but it refers to all this. There are three directions. Forward, back, and idle. Forward is success. Back is an obvious failure and is measured as so. Idle is a failure that is not seen right away. What is idle doesn't move. Things that don't progress begin to rot and before you know it, fall apart from the inside.

I didn't cry about my debt, I simply informed you of it. My debt is a fact, nothing more.

Again, I am driven by more than money. It might seem odd to you, but for some of us it isn't all about the Benjamins.
