We'll let that kick off the thread.

I'm gonna do my sweep of BMWs and a few Porsches in and out.

    86. I've always loved that body style of Supra.

The thing I can't get over, is that this is basically a Celica with a fucked up transmission design. But I still think it's sexy as hell.

The '79 is so hideous. It's magnificent.

All of these cars have too many cons. You know what it's like getting parts for these things ?

Make me crave an M3 at Service 2.

I'd steer away from the 944. My dad and bro had one with low miles. They put a bunch of money into it and it wasn't that great when it ran.

I'd go for the 86 supra.

You don't want a 944 for a 'driver' unless you're fairly proficient with their electrical systems. Parts for those can be hard to get as well, when they're actually used as a 'driver' in an area that the air conditioning gets used relatively often, the A/C systems usually start having a good bit of problems, and on top of the electrical bugs being a pain to track down parts can get expensive and hard-to-find.

Ideal 944 driver would be a SBC swap with a Painless or Rebel harness and Vintage Air.

Thanks, what I kinda figured. I was up all night until passing out at my keyboard - I think the BMW is prolly the smartest purchase to be right now.

It used to be that Civics were, but a good civic will actually cost you some fuckin coin these days. And are rarer than finding a Jalpa.

Yeah, I've never really been impressed by the 944 outside of it's appearance and seating position. As seating goes, it's perfect. Well, a 911 is perfect but I can't go that high in the budget.

The 928 makes my heart race too ... But talk about a rolling pill of issues.

I got a loan approval today - But apparently I have to stick with 2004 or newer.

    Blech.

So if it's an older one, I'm gonna have to cash out at about $3000 and in about 3 weeks. We'll see how it works out.

even 2004 is pretty far back. most 'used car loans' are for 8 year or newer from when i was pricing them for my truck. i got denied a bunch of times for 'age of vehicle'.

I'm calling tomorrow on a 325CI in Fairfield. If that call goes well, I'll be picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

But I'll be stuck in CT with two cars.
