it was the best (and probably still is) at the time i was shopping. That's why i bought it.

If you're looking to pay money, go visit central florida turbo. they build some sick cars and aren't too far from you

Central FL Turbo is good.

Full-Race is excellent. If you're thinking of spending $900 on the manifold anyway, stretching another $100 for the Full-Race isn't bad at all. Buying the kit wouldn't be a bad option either, but me being me, I would spec out a turbo on my own.

Thanks guys. AdDiCtEdToBoOsT...how however the hell it is that he spells his name...haha...linked me to CFT. The place is right around the corner and I am thinking that is where I will end up going. I swear, if the guys from H-T that sell my freakin' cams never get back to me, I am going to end up going there and probably getting the cams from them, as well as the gears...etc. etc. How hard is it to find Skunk2 stage 2 turbo cams for a good price nowadays? The H-T guys from Evasivemotorsports had quoted me $499 shipped. That's a freakin' sweet deal.

What do you mean by "spec out the turbo" Mike? Find your own? I really would not know where to start. The kit seems like the best idea for me...after I pay off this guy in Texas that is.

Luis, selecting a turbo that is suitable for your goal/application is not as difficult as it seems. Some links that I started with:

Turbocharger Compressor Calculations

Compressor map - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Compressor maps are extremely important. They are probably one of the first things you should understand when piecing together your own kit. Great way to save money, BTW. I pieced together a kit that would probably cost upwards of 3500 for a little under 1500.

Yup. Learn how to decipher compressor maps, figure out what kind of power curve and boost you want, make a guess at your volumetric efficiency... then you can use a compressor map to come up with a really good approximation of how your engine will behave under boost. If you're really good, you can figure out what the spoolup characteristics will be too. ;)

Luis and I are picking out some parts and gathering some ideas at the moment

Next, Matthew and I are going to be picking out our living room curtains and toilet paper patterns. :D

Anyone that would like to join in the conversation or share ideas on build related stuff...not living room curtains, please feel free to IM me at Luis998@live.com on MSN Live Messenger. If you have a different IM service, PM me and let me know and if I don't have it, I'll get it.

That information you provided me was great, Matt but I am still having problems "spec'ing" out the turbo. I'm sure we'll cover this on my next lesson. haha

It is somewhat confusing, Luis. We will cover that, and make sure that you are able to choose a turbo that will work properly and efficiently on your setup, while still leaving some room for m0 p0wah!

:toot:Awesome man. I can't wait to start researching even more. :D

Full-Race FTW. For the guy that said they have 1k profit built into their kits....seriously dude. Do you know anything about them? Ever heard about overhead? Know how much it costs to staff that many people, own a CNC robotic tig welder, etc.?

I would go with Meutek Castiron manifold, I have both the Blox and Meutek castiron manifold and they both work great with no problems....

What is your power goal???? I read on your other thread about B16 head buil that your power goal is 330hp. Is that the same power goal you looking to get out of this build????

That is if he ever gets it done...:)

haha! You pessimistic bastard! If I could rep you for that I would. hahahaha

It has grown from 330 to a lot more than that nowadays. I'm not sure if I have posted my current power goals anywhere though.
