now its a 91
I have a 91 dx hatchback with automatic seat belts (don't know what is automatic about them, they are fixed). The seat belt buckle is attached to the seat but I am switching to a new seat that doesn't have this. The 89 hatchback had the buckles separate and bolted to the chassis. My question is what is the best way to attach these buckles to the chassis. Should I cut the piece of chassis out and weld one with the threads in (I have a totaled 89 chassis that I can take the piece of chassis from)? Or should I take a piece of plate, weld a nut to it and then weld it on top of the chassis?
I don't really want to put 4 points in because it is going to be my daily driver and I would like to keep my backseats.
