IDK that 06+ he posted was darn-skippily-sexy! MUCH nicer than our EP3's.

I'd still take my 4-door over it though. Just because it's my DD and I can accommodate more hoes

Troof. Andrew, nice addition to the collection. Hoes love clean new cars, and they also love boost. So get to work :)

Just remember Andrew....

thats basically a US EP3 minus the motor ^^

Yeah, but you can pretty much get any engine you want in the hondas here.

I could go and buy an 08 with a 1.4l, 1.8, 2.0, 2.2Diesel, 2.4l. And then you can get the factory options here, much like japan.

Andrew:

Yeah, I love the 06+ civic here. My girlfriend wants me to buy a Type R. She loves that car. <3

Those "type R" Hatches are only available in Europe and are worse than our EP3 Si. They both even share the same version of the K20.

lol, whut? Uh no. You driven one? The transmission is completely different, and shifts the power-band so it's actually usable.

My wife LOVES the sound of a turbo and is thrilled I'm turboing my car
---------------

Andrew, what fuel pressure regulator did you use? Did you get a cheap Ebay one or what?

My girlfriend is really looking forward to helping me put the spinna on.

She likes it now when I piss off the porsches by passing them, she thinks it's funny when I eat people in the turns too. :D I think she's becoming a gear-head. <3

No, of course I haven't driven one.

JDM CTR Sedan $25,000 225ps 1270kg (1 minute flat times on Tsukuba stock FF N/A, just rediculous)

Euro CTR Hatch $34,000 201ps 1345kg

Plus the suspension flaws in the hatch. Idk man, I just don't like it. Maybe it is better than the EP3. I havn't driven one, but from the reviews I have read it's not far off.

Edit: sorry Andrew again, this is my last thread jack ;x

I've never seen fat fives w/a real good polish. Dayum!! I think we need to do this to yours!

**Edit** Andrew, I was talking to our local car Guru, asked a couple of questions about a vacuum manifold, one being if it was OK to run a line straight from the manifold instead of Teeing off the brake booster.

I didn't even finish my sentence before he objected to Teeing off the brake booster. Said you should ALWAYS run straight off the manifold. Reason is that the vacuum is constantly changing because of the diaphragm in the brake booster. it's not that you CANT do it, pple do it all the time and it's fine, but it's not the best thing to do.

Thought you might like to knwo that, since yours is tee'd off the brake booster. I can do mine from the IM  Built another vacuum manifold too ;)

Oh ok cool. good to know. I'll figure something out. Nothing a little drilling and tapping can't fix. I'll do it to the Y8 manifold before I put it on...
BTW those fat fives are SICK! gawd.

Sorry for the lack of progress here lately guys... I've been studying my butt off getting ready for my FAA written's , orals and practicals for both the Airframe and Powerplant certificates. I've got 6 weeks left of school, so I'll have all of it done by then, but it's requiring most of my attention right now...
Not to even mention having X amount of other projects around here to do.

LIFE.

At least you have your priorities straight. Get your degree and license before finishing the "boost". Your rex isnt going anywhere you know.

Andrew and I swapped wheels..Which means I have the original set that came on my car :P He'll have pics (I assume tomorrow) of the Rex w/the 16" GT3's.

And a lil 1st-3rd video. It barks 3rd gear now.. Use to not to when I had the PCV system hooked up. Crazy huh?

I've GOT to get it painted.

I want to lower it more but I need a flippin coil-wrench thing

Sorry for the crappy Cell phone pics!

As far as an "update", I've been on the hunt for a new manifold/turbo setup. If you guys come across any good deals, please feel free to link 'em my way!

It's just difficult. Theres too much spring tension to do it like that, I've tried. I can break the jam-collar loose but the main one isn't moving. I guess I could always compress the springs, but that might require taking it off. well, now that I think about it, I doubt it. I might try that!

Dave, if your referring to the new wheels, I just traded Terrance for a little while.
I'm looking to get a new turbo and manifold setup for said reason. I'm looking to now run an external wastegate so that I can clock the turbo.

Actually guys, all this is kindof starting to shift gears. I'm now looking into making my own traction bar. Been looking over heim joints and radius rods for a little bit now, and I'm confident I can do it. I'm just going to start with the end plates and main bar, then start making measurements. Mind you, all of this ish is taking me extra long because I'm having to save my money for car payments. but it'll get done.

I've got a pretty clear idea of what I'm going to do in my head, so I'm going to just do it. "aint nothin' to it but to do it" has been my motto lately. =)

Updates soon! I promise.

I was talking about the turbo, but in the back of my mind I wondered about the wheels as well. Now they're both cleared up :)

Update! (cool!)

Got frisky and re-evaluated my situation. I need to get my radiator in and get my charge piping back together.

Heres what the stock one looks like:

Just a little too close to work with:

The new one from ebay wasn't fitting so well...

Rubbing down here:
IMG_9968.jpg

So I beat the piss out of the bar. This is temporary. I'm going to make a traction bar in the near future.

Sitting nice and purdy:

got a little more beating to do:

But now theres plenty of room...
IMG_9971.jpg

I'm planning on doing some custom fab right here on the hot side piping. I'm teetering between welding a "white-man bend"/piecut or doing a series of 90* bends.
BTW, I'm going to be using some age-old logic on my chargepiping.

What happens when you compress air? You guessed it, it heats up.
What happens when you let compressed air expand? You guessed it, it cools down.
Ever wonder why we have Expansion valves in our airconditioning systems? bingo. it lowers the air temp drastically post-condenser/ pre-evaporator, which gives the freon a chance to expand and cool down, giving us goose-bumps.

Very simply put(and pretty common I suppose):
I'm going to run smaller piping on the hot side. Say 2". And larger piping on the cold side, say 2.5" like it is now. This will let the air expand even more post-intercooler and let it cool my IAT's down a little bit.

Thats the thought anyway. Enough of my sleepy rant. I'm going to bed.
Later Gents
