i think ill convert to buddhism... :D
[post=522879]Quoted post[/post]

Then you will go to hell. Why will you go to hell? Because the majority of the people on this board and in the world believe you will. Buddhism is a small religion... why it is it a small religion? Because it is unpopular... why is it unpopular? Because Buddhism is a religion that believes in doing no harm to any living thing on this planet.

So buddhists will go to hell because they dont do anything and Christians disagree with it...

imo, thats what i disagree with so many other christians these days; they, in a way, force their religion on other people by convincing them that if they dont convert or follow the christian way they will go to "christian hell"(isnt that what the old Roman Church did back in the days?).

That's the general belief.

That belief is based on ONE thing... the one thing that this "war on terror" is based on: Fear.

Why do you worship, live as sinless of a life as you can, pay pennance to the Church, support pro-life, prevent gays from marrying, etc? Because you fear spending the rest of eternity in a burning pit of brimstone with a red horned man carrying a pitchfork whose only job is to torture you forever.

Guess what? It worked.

Why did Bush get support to invade Iraq so easily? He invoked fear. Fear that if we don't invade that country that the "terrorists" (EXTREMELY broad term here) will attack. Of course they never tell you who, where, when or how, therefore invoking even more fear in the population. "We don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." Remember that? Ohhhh nuclear weapons, people are scared to hell of them. They didn't care that Iraq had *NO POSSIBLE WAY* (GET THAT YOU CONS?! NO POSSIBLE FUCKING WAY. ASK A GODDAMN NUCLEAR SCIENTIST WHO DOES SHIT LIKE THAT FOR A LIVING AND THEY WILL TELL YOU!), it was the green glowing boogieman of Hiroshima wanting to rock the world again.

Guess what? It worked.

Look at what the news media feeds the people... murder, robberies, rape, blah blah blah. FEAR FEAR FEAR. Be scared! Here, buy these guns so you don't have to fear... use them to make other people fear you and they'll buy guns and then everyone's fearing everyone and the INSTANT something happens, the country goes completely nuts. Biggest example: 9/11. People going apeshit buying duct tape, saran wrap, bottled water, to the point of selling stores dry. The news stations want to keep you absolutely glued to the television, asking how high everytime they say jump.

Guess what? It worked.

America, for being the number one superpower on the planet, is a horribly scared nation. Its a perpetual wounded animal... if you even look like you're gonna poke it, it will rip you to shreds.

Boo.

There are such a thing as Christian Extremists too (cept we call em the KKK)

Bzzzzzt. Wrong. Today we call them the 700 Club, Far Right or the Christian Right. People like Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson who repeatedly mis-quote the Bible, twist the acutal word of the Christian religion and their right wing underlings eat it up like it was candy. You can *usually* tell who these people are... they have big ol bumper stickers saying "One nation under GOD" or "GOD bless the USA."

Of course they are misinformed about so much. Just as an example, the "One Nation Under God" line was *NOT* and I repeat *NOT* put in by our founding fathers, was NEVER intended to be in the Pledge and certainly does not belong there.

So, why is it there?

It was put there in the 50's to put us above the "Godless Communists". of course the same rhetoric is being spouted against the "Islamic Extremists", which just so gracefully works in the Christian Right's favor.

History... don't learn it... yer doomed to repeat it.

We already did, 2 years ago when 1615 soldiers were still alive.

As far as the whole "interment camps served a purpose, and your family was eventually released" is complete bull shit. Yea, they were released and later compensated by the government a generation later, but do you understand what that generation of Japanese-americans had to go through. These people had good bussiness and then were taken away. How the hell is a bussiness going to run without the owner there for 2 years. Guess what, it doesn't, the family bussiness is lost, and now there goes a family legacy. Today "poor farmers are loosing their family farms" Well this happened to japanese people when we took them from their family buessiness.

Just because you dont like the christian right doesnt mean that they are as bad as muslim extremists that kill people for the plain fact that they dont like them or their beliefs. The christian right just talks shit and says that their enemies will be condemned to a life time in their hell.
