my car has most recently started misfiring and making a clicking sound when i accelerate, and i was just wondering what the problem might be?

well i just recently did mpfi, and the timing is good i just checked it today and it starts fines and it runs but it is misfiring. i think it is cause i am not using the si emissions thing that mounts to the fire wall, where the vaccum line run. could that be the problem.
