Annndddd it runs!

Last night I set the valves and put the valve cover back on for the first time in 5 months. Then my dad and I set the package in the bay. It only took a couple hours to get it to run, it had to be one of our easiest swaps yet. After arguing with my dad about the firing order (I was right btw) it ran first try :). No CELs yet, just the battery light cause I don't have an alternator belt. But it seems to run great so far. :D

The only two wires I had to add for the swap.

Radiator? Who needs a stinkin radiator in Canada, eh?

Glad it's in and running right. What did you have to run? Knock and IAB's?

looks like it belongs. =)
Ohh it belongs!

Bahaha yeah knock, IABs and extend wires here and there.
So sick......

<<<this guys jealous

good news thought selling the passat in hopes to pick up a toy,
now to find one in WA that is a decent price.

Thanks man, I think I'm finally satisfied lol.

I got coolant running through the motor and got it up to full temp. No problems yet, I have to replace the dizzy cap cause it's old/cracked/burnt annddd makes a pretty annoying misfire. :/ Oh yeah and the bolts that hold together SUCK. The motor vibrations shake the bolts loose in minutes. On the plus my dad grabbed his flare kit and I got the braking system completed. The hydro clutch system has been checked off too, the pedal is suppeerr solid and has a good feedback.

Much appreciated. :)

I bought a new cap and rotor today, rotor fit but the cap didn't. My B16 cap doesn't fit either. :( I cleaned up the shitty cap and it runs a lot better now. I was able to time it and check the compression.

u know what.. i had the same problem w/ the dizzy cap not fitting on my b16 too.. i just cleaned up my contacts and called it good.. never did figure it out.

I was hoping for at least 7k on the initial hit, then drop it back to 4k - then rack it up a couple of quick blips to ~7500.....see some header flames......

You Canadian boys and your Kilometers.

Looks and sounds good

I'd like to hear it when you get the exhaust hooked up too.

I bought a OEM 94-95 Honda Del Sol VTEC cap/rotor on my old JDM B16A and had no issues.

Did you get a OEM 94-95 GSR cap/rotor?

Maybe I need a 94-95 cap like CAFROG said.

My dad picked up the cap and asked for a '95 GSR so I'm not sure. We have another cap on order. :)

The new cap worked, and because they screwed up I got it on the cheap side. The car is like 95% put back together, ie. axles installed, brakes hooked up, cooling system finished, ect. All thats left is the universal joint for the steering and make an exhaust.

It gets started every day and runs perfect all the time. Soon I'll insure it for my dad to commute in so any bugs can get worked out. I get my licence back a month from today. :)

Looks AWESOME! Now finish up that interior and rock it! I would love to have the money to build/ have another civic :( I'm hoping to pick up another job so I may soon!

Fuck interior lol. Honestly I got really lucky, this car cost me very little to build.

Wrecked Integra + $4000
Buy back Integra - $1000
Stock Civic - $400
Black interior bits - $250
ASR brace/bar - $220
Engine gaskets - $167
Misc engine parts - $550
Header - $350
Fluids - $50
Misc parts - $60

= About $953 still in my pocket.

Add exhaust and some nice stock OEM honda wheels with that extra grand you got left over

No more yellow wheels

His wheels haven't been yellow for a while. The bronze he coated them in looks pretty good. Finally... :p
